About the series:

In January 2019 I found a box of 18 glass plate negatives in an antique shop in North London. I brought them, took them home, and starting trying to find our more about them.

What and who did they show?

Where in the world were they taken, when, and why? Were they even taken by the same person or were they collected after they’d served their original purpose?

What We Find: I scanned them and isolated various details to access as much of the information the negatives contained as possible; and I sent them off to various experts.

What We Bring: I made a series of paintings which layered imagined colour on top of the structure of the monochromatic images.
